Café Nona, Schauenburgerstrasse 3, 4052 Basel
Under the name «Nona», a café opened in Basel at the end of July that facilitates intergenerational encounters. The dining area is illuminated by a light installation created by the artist duo stöckerselig in collaboration with Print your light (PYL).
A central component of the design are five unique pendant luminaires that bathe the bar in a striking light. These luminaires are based on an artistic concept that uses an apple from stöckerselig's studio that has dried out over the years as an organic source object. This object was digitized by PYL and transformed into a high-precision, three-dimensional model.
PYL has integrated a specially developed lighting technology to create a uniform and appealing light image that shapes the atmosphere of the room. This precisely coordinated lighting enhances the interior design effect of the bar and harmonizes perfectly with the interior, which impresses with the clever combination of old tables and a contemporary design approach.
